EMA Announces Board Expansion and New Leadership Following Special Election
Board grows to nine seats with return of Laura Duklewski and addition of Lin Ge; Christian Hofer named new Chairperson
[Washington D.C., Nov. 20, 2025] - The Environmental Markets Association (EMA) announced today the results of its special election, marking a significant milestone in the organization's growth and leadership transition.
Board Expansion and New Members
EMA's Board of Directors has expanded from seven to nine seats, strengthening the organization's capacity to serve its members and advance industry priorities. Following the special election, EMA welcomes:
- Laura Duklewski, Trading Manager at Constellation, returning to the board to continue her dedicated service
- Lin Ge, Head of Environmental Trading at Brookfield Renewables, joining as a new board member bringing fresh perspective and expertise
"We are thrilled to welcome Laura back and Lin to our board," said Christian Hofer, EMA's newly appointed Chairperson. "This expansion reflects our commitment to diverse leadership and positions us well for the opportunities ahead."
New Officer Appointments
Effective immediately, EMA's Board has appointed the following officers:
- Christian Hofer, Associate VP at Sol Systems – Chairperson (formerly Vice Chairperson)
- Steve McComb, Managing Director and Chief Product Officer at IncubEx – Vice Chairperson (formerly Treasurer)
- Pasquale Roselli, Head of Commercialization, Trading and Portfolio Management USA and Canada at Enel North America – Treasurer
- Ken Nelson, President at Blue Delta Energy, LLC – Secretary
Leadership Transition
These appointments conclude Jack Velasquez's tenure as EMA Chairman, marking the end of a distinguished five-year term at the helm of the organization. Velasquez, who serves as Director of Environment Markets North America at Marex, will continue serving on the board as a director, bringing his valuable experience and institutional knowledge to support EMA's strategic direction.
"It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Chairman of EMA over the past five years," said Jack Velasquez. "I've witnessed incredible growth and resilience within our organization and industry. As I pass the gavel to Christian and this talented leadership team, I'm confident that EMA is well-positioned for continued success. I look forward to continuing my service as a board member and supporting the organization as we advance our mission in environmental markets."
Under Velasquez's leadership, EMA strengthened its position as a leading voice in environmental and carbon markets, expanded its membership base, and advanced critical policy initiatives that shaped the industry.
